Cassandra Clare was born on July 27th 1973. Her real name is Judith Rumelt and Cassandra Clare is her pen name. When she moved to Los Angeles, she started to write fan fiction. She wrote about Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings and more. She then wrote The Mortal Instruments series, The Infernal devices series, The Dark Artifices series and more. She is friends with Holly Black and they both write fantasy stories so they decided to write the Magisterium series together.
